Our poor blog has suffered from our lack of writing. So I'm here to remedy that, I hope.

Hard to believe that it's practically mid-December already. Where did 2010 go? I feel like it was just summer and we I was just suffering from a HOT Arkansas heat wave! I'm not going to complain though becuase this is my favorite time of year. At least it use to be when I lived in Kentucky. By this time of the year, usually, we would have already gotten a little snow. Not enough to really make a difference in the day, but snow no less. In fact they've already gotten some up there and I'm here missing it. {insert heavy sigh here}

With the Fall/Winter time rolling around also come our busy schedules. Now, I won't lie, I like being busy and we both know you wouldn't know what to do if you weren't running in 20 different directions, but too busy to talk to my bestie?! What's going on here!!!?? It's like we're living in the twilight zone! Ha ok maybe not that bad, but still different all the same. Darn that 2 hour time change. What can we do about that?!

Hope you are having a great day today. Miss you.

Hot Tea & Cider

I got to talk to you last night for a long time and it was great. It's been a few weeks since we have been able to talk at length and it had been a few days since we had been able to talk at all! You were camping with your family and I was in Dallas with mine. After I got off the phone with you I laid in bed thinking about you for a few minutes. 2005-2010, Amber & Amanda. 5 years of being friends, real friends. I suppose if you could go back farther since we probably met a few years earlier, but I pretty much start our relationship out in 2005. We've come a long way in 5 years. I look forward to seeing where we'll go together in another 5 years, 10 years, 20 years...

I love you.

(Almost) Home sweet home

So would you like a tour of 10785 Joeger?
Well of course you do!
Brace yourself. It's going to be a pretty bumpy ride!

In the driveway looking down at the front door.
Clearly the dad is happy.
Not sure why. That door frame has a hornets nest on it.
Musta been before he saw it.

The steps down to the front door. (Where I'm standing now)
The driveway is up there.

Front door looking in.
I will say one of the best parts about this house is the awesome front door.
My dad said it probably wasn't up to code because it was cut down to fit in the low frame.
Fortunately, I'm only 5'2". The door is perfect.
I may however need to have a height requirement for friends.
"You must be under this ---------> height
To enter the Weaver home.
Tall people may use back door. "

Entry way looking at the back of the door.
In the front room looking at entry way.
Living room looking back at entry on left side of picture.
The brick area is where a stove used to be.
Standing on the brick area.
Weird bathroom on left corner of screen.
Kitchen directly in front.
"Master" bedroom is the door on the right.
Entry and office are behind me.
Awesome chandelier in "Master" bathroom
"Master" bathroom. That sliver of a wall on the right? That's the closet that's in the bathroom.
Don't you just love the hidden nook in the tub? It's like a secret hiding place! In the shower!
And I know you're just loving that green corner piece.
Don't you just loooove the wall paper?
*Blech*
"Master" bedroom. Bathroom is on the right.

The basement.
Please ignore the gross floor, hideous paint and creepy wall decals.
The steps upstairs are on my left. The door to the carport is behind me.
I have really high hopes and big plans for this one.
The oh-so-awesome retro bathroom.
I do love the built in cabinet.
I'm warming up to the pink set.
I will not however fall in love with that wall paper.
Or sink.
(I told you the wallpaper had naked European people bathing. I can't make that kind of stuff up)

Back porch.
Loooooove it.
The creek is on my left.
Clearly dad likes it too.
On the porch looking at kitchen. The sink is through the window on the corner. The sliding door is just past the dinosor of a washing machine.
Standing on the covered porch at the sliding door.
That's the bridge over the creek.
The pasture is up that dry grassy walk way.

I do realize I didn't take any pictures of the kitchen.
So I'll hopefully be able to take some next time we're up there :)

Same time, Different place

I love that this morning we were up at the same time sharing our morning together.

"...things change, so do cities, people come into your life and they go. But it's comforting to know that the ones you love are always in your heart... and if you're very lucky, a plane ride away.”

The first McSteamy, McDreamy... my very own McGraw ;)

So as you very well know the other man in my life is Mr. McGraw.
(We have had a secret love affair long before my Jay-bo came around. But it's ok, the hubby knows about this other man and has fully accepted my relationship with him)
You remember that very first artist you fell in love with? The artist you would have given your left kidney to see?
I never fell out of love. And I never got to see him. Even after offering my left kidney.
But now I have and I can die happy.
I realized I never put pictures on here and I'm wearing this shirt and thought I'd share the McGraw love :)

My Amore

I thought I'd pay a tribute to my one and only Mark. Now I know this blog is suppose to be about us, but hey we have to humor the guys every once in awhile right!? He's one cool dude. This pic is a couple of years old, but I liked it a lot so I thought I'd post it. I looked at a lot of pics of us. It's kind of hilarious to see all the hair styles I've had. I'm pretty sure if I posted a pic from every year my hair would be different in every one. :)

As you know my weekend was less than the best. I'm not real sure how to draw myself out of the place I'm in. Any suggestions?

Wednesday, July 7, 2010

Well you said you didn't know when we'd get another one of these pictures. We got one a lot sooner than we both imagined!! Sorry I didn't get to surprise you but hey a week's notice is still a pretty good surprise!!! I had a great time! Miss you a ton now though. Hope we can have another surprise visit real soon!

Old Lady

I had my eye appointment today with my new eye doctor.
She called me a "youngster" even though she had just seen my husband. Hmm, she did call him cute instead of handsome, dashing, rugged or manly. (All adjectives I would use to describe him)
Still... youngster?? I'll show her!

What did she find when she looked into my little ol' left eye?
"Hmm... Looks like you have a cataract."
Wait!!! CATARACT!! But I'm only 24?!?
"Well let's take a look at the other eye.... hmm.. I'll be darn. You have one in each eye! Little tiny snowballs. Perfect mirror images of each other. Well, I've never seen anything like it!"
Well aren't I just special....
"The only thing I can think is that they're congenital, meaning you've had them since you developed as a fetus. And clearly you're not having a hard time seeing through them. But we'll just watch them and see if they start thickening or growing. Right now they're about this big, 3 mil..." as she shows me on a ruler that I cannot see at all because of my stupid dilated eyes.
Gee thanks. I feel sooo much better.

... it gets better...

"Now let me check your eyes again now that they're dilated.... Just as I suspected. It looks as though you're far sighted (as I already knew) and near sighted. Hon, the best solution to your current condition is bifocals."
No. Nope. No way no how.
"And I just can't stand putting you in bifocals right away so I think we'll try a different prescription to see if we can retrain your eyes and avoid bifocals for the time being. But we'll probably end up there sooner than later."

Seriously?! Shoot me now.
Am I turning 25 or 95 this year?!?!

My newest (food) love

So as you know, really like eating good food. And even more than that, cooking good food.
My new favorite summer food?
Grilled pizza :)

The crust is a loaf of focaccia sliced in half
The top pizza is drizzled in olive oil and has fresh spinach, garlic, baby portabella mushrooms, feta cheese and parmesan cheese. (My favorite)
The bottom is fresh homemade pesto (with home grown basil, garlic, parmesan, pinenuts, pepper), tomatoes, mozzarella and parmesan.
I seriously can't get enough of these babies.

You won't have to ask too hard for me to make you these when you come see me :)

Really just a plane ride away..

I'll be there in LESS than a week!

5 Years

This is an oldie but a goodie. Since I didn't know you that well in college I'm not even sure if you were here, but this is a photo from January 27, 2005 at my ring ceremony in the Mac Rotunda! I waited many years for this ceremony and after seeing lots of people go before me I finally got to have my own! Here we are 5 years later. Here's to another great 5 years!!

The most magical place on earth

As you know, we just got back from Disneyland,
the place of magic, excitement, wonder, imagination....
and sheer terror.

By far one of the best pictures from the trip, if not all time.
Now, I have to give her some credit.
This was on Splash Mountain, you know the ride with the log and foxes and bears and rabbits. (Oh my!)
It does have a rather steep drop off at the end.
But was this that drop? Oh no. This was a mere 3 foot drop. Tops.
As we all laugh after this little hump in the river she screams,
"THAT wasn't IT!?!?!?!"
If only I wasn't afraid of my camera getting wet on the big drop, I would have loved to have seen that face.

I bet you can guess what my background is now. ;)

Some Like It Hot...Just Not ME!

All I can say is that it's been HOT here....and I don't like it. I spend my day running (well not really) from one air conditioned place to another. And let me tell you, leather seats on the summer are rough! Hope the temperatures are cooler where you are, or at the very least less humid!

Family

While you were at the happiest place on earth I was in Grenada, Mississippi at a family reunion. I had to post this picture because it was just too funny to not post it. This is my Great Aunt Sissy aka Aunt Wynette and my Great Uncle Shorty aka Uncle Ed. Aunt Sissy was my grandad's sister and Uncle Shorty was married to another one of my grandad's sisters, Cathrine, who passed away a long time ago. Uncle Shorty is 90 and his vision isn't that great anymore, but he is still as sweet as I remember! Aunt Sissy still has her hair done and her lipstick in place! It was a quick trip, but good to see my parents and sister and other extended family that I don't see often.

Cube Life

The thought may not have even crossed your mind, but I thought I would give you a glimpse into my everyday life at work. This is my "office". Now I know it's not much to see, but hey I spend 40+ hours here a week so why not post a picture. You can see my favorite UK cup to drink out of, or the black one that is a Harding cup (gotta represent). I've seen where you work, now you've seen mine!

Afternoon drive through Napa

I thought I'd follow with an image from our last trip as well.
Especially since most future posts will be from each of us separately. Might as well start out with us together knowing that it might be awhile before we can get one of these again. :(

We're Animals!

Ok I know we're suppose to post pictures from our weekend, but I couldn't help but start this blog out with a photo from my last trip to see you! For those of you out there, this is a pic from the Sacramento Zoo! Amanda was gracious enough to have me out for a visit and we, in true fashion, lived it up!
